MYTHS & FACTS ABOUT MOBILE TOWER ANTENNAE RADIATION : PART V

NORMS VERSUS ACTUAL RADIATION LEVELS

MYTH :

India’s Norms are the most stringent in the world

FACT :

Congress / UPA reduced Norms to 10% of earlier followed ICNIRP norms on an adhoc basis without any scientific basis. Michael Pepacholi Chairman Emeritus ICNIRP has very aptly mentioned to Infrastructure Today :

“India has made a “ political decision”, not “health based" decision to adopt 1/10 of ICNIRP norms.”

Are Norms on Paper important or Actual Radiation levels at ground level.
Indian Government officials and Industry always compare Norms but how about COMPARING ACTUAL RADIATION LEVELS .

Do we have data published of Actual Radiation levels. An App promised couple of  years back has still not been made public. WHY ?

Please check out :
Norms of France 10 times higher than India but actual radiation levels are at 20 milliwatts per square meter ( mW/m2 ).

Please see Le Point France October 15, 2013. Norms of Australia 10 times higher than India but actual radiation according to ARPANSA ranges from lowest  0.568 mW/m2 at Skinners Head to highest 150.499 mW/m2 at Lennox Head.

Information provided by Department of Telecommunications to the Parliamentary Standing Committee ( IT ) mentions that India’s norms are TEN TIMES higher than five countries in the world : Russia , Italy, Poland, Bulgaria and Lithuania.

These countries have a single norm of 100 milliwatts / m2 for all frequencies unlike India which has a range of 450  miilliwatts / m2 to 1000 milliwatts /m2 depending on Frequency.

When will India publish actual Radiation levels like ARPANSA ?

Did you know Radiation levels at Haji Ali Juice Center , Mumbai were at 188 mW/m² which is almost twice as much as the norms in above five countries.

IN CONCLUSION

PLEASE COMPARE ACTUAL LEVELS OF RADIATION  NOT NORMS

INDIA'S NORMS ARE NOT THE MOST STRINGENT IN THE WORLD !!
